A delicious cast – and other reasons to be excited about Wonka

If there’s one thing we can’t get enough of, it’s star-studded blockbusters. If there’s another thing we can’t get enough of, it’s chocolate. Combine the two together and, well, it’s game over for our excitement levels and sweet tooth. But those aren’t the only reasons we’re going wacky for Wonka. Let us share a few more. 

Timothée Chalamet as a young Willy Wonka? You know it makes sense

Yes, we’re going to see how Willy became Wonka. But not only that, we’re also going to meet a whole new bunch of characters who happen to be played by some of the biggest stars around. Even your dad will know who most of them are. Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Matt Lucas, and Sally Hawkins are all knocking about in this one. 

Did we mention Hugh Grant is an Oompa Loompa?

Yeah, just when you thought he couldn’t possibly top his performance in Paddington 2, Hugh Grant is now playing an actual Oompa Loompa. He sings, he dances, and at one point he even flies. Just hand him an Oscar now and be done with it.

Paul King, who directed both of those wondrously feel-good films, is also behind this creative new take on the chocolatier. And you know what that means?
