Previously I wasn’t a massive film fan but working at Blockbusters got me into films and I started to come to Vue. Everyone is friendly, happy and enjoying themselves at work.
My typical day involves doing telephone interviews for new staff and creating a shortlist of people to be interviewed by the Managers. Then when the new team member joins, I explain the jobs a Customer Assistant has to do so they know our standards and the Vue way of working. I’ve been on a course to understand how to train people and refer to the training pack which is easy and straight forward to use. I don’t just send someone out to do the job, I show them first then they practice so they feel more confident.
In the role of a Training Buddy you need to be patient to deal with all different types of learners and be willing to go the extra mile. I'm also a Customer Assistant and I enjoy dealing with different customers all the time plus the benefits of working at Vue are good – free films, 40% off food and it’s a relaxed friendly environment.
