Maedeh Shenofi

I had a friend who worked for Vue who said it was a great friendly environment and I can say it’s not a job you’ll get bored in – it’s exciting and new. I have a computer science degree so enjoy the fact we are Digital – it involves everyone and it’s great to learn new things.

First thing in the morning I do the health and safety checks around the cinema and then move onto emails to make sure there are no changes to the film times. I then start all the operational things that need to be done – tills, briefing the team on targets for the day and how to reach them. It’s really important to check where our performance sits within the company as well as checking our Customer Satisfaction Index which is direct feedback. We are always looking at how we can improve and get the team focused.

I used to think mainly students worked at Vue but actually we have people of different ages and cultures so I would say to anyone thinking of joining Vue – apply, definitely. It’s not just about free cinema tickets, it’s about the experience you’ll gain and enjoying work too.
