ACT 1 – THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our UK&I Finance department. Reporting into the UK&I FP&A Manager the Senior Financial Analyst will support the UK&I FP&A Manager in the delivery of key reporting, planning and analysis processes as well as project/ad-hoc work.

 Main Responsibilities include:

  • Review and interpret historical results (business as usual and initiatives) to improve understanding of the territory’s performance and challenge financial information provided by others, ensuring the integrity of internal and external reporting and narrative
  • Territory FP&A reporting for the UK&I Exec and Group that provides insight and adds value
  • Manage forward looking planning processes and submissions to Group FP&A (weekly outlook, quarterly forecast, budget, 3-year plan)
  • Other analysis, presentations and reporting as required by the Finance Director, UK&I Executive teams and Group FP&A (e.g. Director’s Cut, bond reporting, ad hoc requests etc)
  • Work with team in Denmark to produce and review all reporting requirements, as well as interpret performance and ensure commentary is insightful and can drive action
  • The role will be focused on supporting the Commercial (Marketing, Digital and Sales) and Technical Services areas of the business, assisting the delivery of projects that underpin key strategic business initiatives. The incumbent will demonstrate clear understanding  of performance in those areas, working closely with  senior stakeholders to report on KPIs ( such as Marketing, Corporate Sales and IT) and the delivery of business as usual (BAU) and relevant initiatives
  • Ensuring accurate scenario modeling and robust commercial thinking aligning to strategic goals.

ACT 2 – WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED

  • A qualified ACMA, or ACA
  • Experience in a Commercial Finance/FP&A business partnering role
  • Demonstrable reporting and planning experience in a medium to large corporate entity
  • Ability to work accurately and to manage tight timelines in a fluid environment
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen, with the ability to connect the financial numbers with the commercial narrative
  • Good interpersonal skills, working with different grades of people across the business
  • Takes a logical and methodical approach to the analysis of information to draw accurate conclusions
  • Focused on the accuracy and quality of work through to completion, through setting up appropriate checks and balances
  • Prioritises and schedules activities in order to maximise the use of time and resources. Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines as well as changing priorities. Able to project manage Financial planning processes
  • Demonstrates natural curiosity and a need to understand the implications of financial information, combined with an ability to do ‘common sense’ checks on outputs
  • Able to clearly translate financial terms to quickly engage with senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrates perseverance to overcome obstacles. Shows willingness to go the extra mile. Focuses only on finding solutions and supporting colleagues rather than focusing on what is “wrong” or can’t be done
