ACT 1 – THE ROLE
We have an opportunity for a newly qualified Finance Business Partner to join our UK and Ireland Finance team. Reporting into the Senior FP&A Business Partner, this role will work closely with the Head of Retail, Head of Property, Head of Operations, the senior UK management team, Management Accountants and the Group FP&A team.
The role will be focused on supporting the retail and property areas of the business assisting the Senior FP&A Business Partner in delivery of projects that underpin key strategic business initiatives. Whilst there will be a dedicated Operations FP&A Business Partner, this role will be required to support across this area at times, particularly where there are crossovers with retail and property initiatives.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Analyse performance against the long range plan, Budget, and Forecasts, evaluating risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate actions
- Support the Senior FP&A Business Partner in the production of accurate KPIs for potential new cinema Board Books in order to aid accurate decision making on new cinema proposals
- Provide, in liaison with Senior FP&A Business Partner, other Finance business partners and senior functional management, pre implementation analysis and research for new innovations and initiatives, covering potential business impact, key insights, conclusions and recommendations
- Ensure consistency of management reporting and information, with particular emphasis on Retail and Property KPIs, to support effective business decision making
- Provide monthly variance analysis and appropriate commentary that adds to business insight and decision making
- Alongside the Senior FP&A Business Partner, work with senior retail and property management to develop business cases - project financials and written business proposals that assess new business opportunities – Trials, Roll-outs or specific site investment opportunities
- Continuously develop reporting processes to track the financial performance of key strategic business priorities, ultimately feeding into an integrated, automated (where possible) and robust reporting process
ACT 2 – WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED
- Finalist/newly qualified accountant CIMA qualified (although ACA/ACCA candidates will be considered if they have sufficient commercial finance experience)
- Experience in a Commercial Finance/FP&A business partnering role (ideally within the Retail, Leisure, Hospitality sector)
- Budgeting and forecasting experience, with demonstrable accountability for delivery of key aspects of a budget/forecast
- Commercially astute and able to demonstrate business case development/project delivery in a fast-paced environment
