ACT 1 – THE ROLE

The main priority for the FA role is to ensure that the cinema facilities standards are maintained to the correct level at all times and to ensure these do not affect the safety and experience of our guests, staff and visitors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To act as the primary contact at your base cinema for all building maintenance requirements.
  • To manage the external service providers (contractors) to ensure the agreed service level requirements are met
  • Report into the duty manager of the cinema on a daily basis to discuss any urgent works / issues
  • Review cinema defect log daily for new works / additional issues identified by cinema teams
  • When walking your cinema note any new defects that require attention to plan in remedial works as required that have not been listed on the defect log by cinema teams
  • Complete required checks as per the FA PPM checklist on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Review other cinema defect logs within your area and discuss planning in of work days at these cinemas with your RFM and GM.
  • Plan any works for the day around priority areas, screens, FOH before cinema opens to the public. Back of house areas tasks can be completed once open to the public if required. 
  • Communicate any issues that require Facilities support direct to your RFM
  • Issue the FA daily worksheet detailing hours worked, items resolved and sign off by cinema duty manager to your RFM
  • Monitor OOH energy usage for your base site using the websites available and by reviewing closing down and opening procedures. Discuss any improvements to be made with your RFM and cinema GM
  • Identify further energy saving initiatives or ideas to discuss paybacks and works required with your RFM
  • Monitor waste and recycling on site via bin checks and coach cinema teams as required in best practice using Vue recycling guidance


ACT 2 – WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Knowledge and experience of plumbing and general DIY gained within a professional environment (ideally from within Retail, Hospitality or Leisure)
  • IT Literacy (Microsoft office including Excel, word and Outlook)
  • Organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and structure work to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident when dealing with different people both internally and externally
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to new situations
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
